“familiar 40”, Zen’s hair, gold

Woven with my naturally fallen and collected hairs using a hairwork pattern from 1867. 40 strands of ‘unicorn’ gray hairs create little hearts running down the center of the band. A custom 14k gold enameled & engraved cat skull centerpiece brings it all together.

This ring is a sentimental piece I have been working towards learning to craft after being inspired by Victorian hair jewelry some years ago. Thanks to online resources, tips from new ‘hair’ friends, and an incredible amount of patience I didn’t know I had, I’m thrilled with the result and hope to do more jewelry in the future.
