Mystery Hair Curls

Hair Mystery -

Can you read the name on this envelope? I think it says Owens Hair, or another suggestion was Daren’s Hair? Someone saved this hair for a reason. Most likely snips from a child. But maybe a lover? Who, and why?

This was buried amongst a pile of papers I purchased from an antique store. I was able to identify whose old desk drawer it all came from, but beyond that I’m stumped, as none of the names I’ve found through genealogy research look quite right, so I’m putting this out into the universe.

🖤 Even if you can’t help with the cursive, I’d still love to know… Did your (grand)mother save baby hair curls, or did you save your child’s? Has that tradition fallen away, or is it still being practiced today? Let’s discuss! 💬
